Yesterday the first copies of Filming for the Future – The Work of Louis van Gasteren by Patricia Pisters were handed over to Van Gasteren and NFF director Willemien van Aalst at Paradiso in Amsterdam.

Filming for the Future is the first book about the work of Van Gasteren, one of Dutch most prolific filmmakers. Writer Patricia Pisters gave a presentation about the development of the book, after which Louis van Gasteren presented a film program specifically composed for the occasion.

At the Dutch Film Festival Van Gasteren was honored with a Gouden Kalf for Best Film ( HANS : LIFE FOR DEATH , 1983) and a Golden Kalf for Best Short Documentary ( SURVIVE PRICE , 2003).
